08.04.2001: Mekka & Symposium 2001 co-sponsored by individual Computers As we did in the past years, we support the nearly-legendary Scene-party Mekka & Symposium with hardware prizes worth more than 1100,- DM. The four-day party takes place annually around Easter in Fallingbostel, located between Hamburg and Hannover, Germany. In the mid-80s, the first European style demos arose on the C-64. Intro-programmers have separated from the cracker-scene to give full scope to their creativity. The style of programming has evolved to a modern way of art in the 90s on all computer systems - among them the Amiga, C-64 and PCs. We think it's worth supporting this kind of art. Programming ("coding") demos has become a lifestyle for some people. Even the proposal of marriage from a well-known C-64 programmer had to be expressed via the "Bigscreen" - accompanied by the applause from more than a thousand scene-members. |
