Money transfers from outside Germany

Our main account at the Deutsche Bank can be reached through BIC and IBAN numbers since January 1st, 2002. If your bank is connected to this international banking system, please use this account, as the new system will save a lot of time and transfer cost.

Please mind that the account holder of all accounts is "Jens Schoenfeld", and not "individual Computers". Only legal persons are allowed to hold an account in Germany, and "individual Computers" is not a legal person. Please make sure that the beneficiary name is correct, otherwise the money will bounce!

Starting January 1st, 2002, the standard certification for Euro-checks is not valid any more, so checks from European countries will not be accepted any more. The European banking system is working perfectly on an electronic basis since a couple of years, so no time will be spent on drawing checks from any European country. Since American banks still seem to live in the mid-ages, checks from north America can be accepted if they are bank certified. If the check is not written in Euro's, a 1% currency conversion fee will be charged. The check fee of 21,- EUR will always be charged. If your debt is 100,- EUR, you must send a check for 121,- EUR.

Western Union payments are not accepted any more. Time is money, and somebody has to line up at the post office for hours. Usually the phone numbers they have to call are busy, and sometimes the money is not released until the second or third try. Who is willing to pay that time?
