Today, the first Catweasel ISA controllers of the new batch have been shipped. Although component shortage was a major problem, we managed to keep the delay below one week. The highly increased demand can now be served. To keep the board producable in the year 2000, some cosmetic changes have been done to the "Y2K edition". Although the board looks different, it is software compatible with the 1996 model. Fitting the board is now easier, and a mechanical protection for the floppy-connector has been introduced.
The Catweasel for the PC reads your Amiga floppies as well as all the other formats a Catweasel can handle. The data is saved in standardized formats that can be used by any Amiga- or C-64 emulator. No special drives like the 1541 from the Commodore C-64 are necessary, the Catweasel uses normal PC diskdrives.
